5 Things You Can Do to Raise Your Metabolism and Burn Fat Faster
Abdominal fat. Pot belly. Protruding stomach. Massive mid section. All these are one and the same thing. Having abdominal fat could be frustrating. With your abdominal fat, you become the laughing stock among your peers and the opposite sex. Abdominal fat breeds in you inferiority complex. It erodes your confidence. You then try all you could to hide your protruding belly as it becomes a hindrance to your attraction to the opposite sex. The clothes you wear become ill fitting. To enhance your good look and consequently your attraction to the opposite sex, you need to lose your abdominal fat. Losing your abdominal fat can however be possible only if you follow some dos and don'ts religiously.
For a start you need to watch what you eat and drink. You have to reduce your carbohydrate and fats intake to the barest minimum. Reduce your carbohydrate intake to 0.5 x your body weight in grams per day, and your fats intake to 0.2 x your body weight in grams per day. You should therefore reduce your intake of foods like pasta, white bread, hamburger, potato chips, fried foods, polished foods, canned and frozen foods, butter, cheese etc. Avoid taking salty foods like plague. You should also avoid taking polished foods. Increase your intake of protein. 1.5 x your body weight in grams per day of protein is recommended. Protein takes time to digest unlike carbohydrate and fats that digest quickly and are easily converted to fats which are stored up in the body. You should therefore increase your intake of foods like eggs, wheat bread, fish, brown rice; calcium based dairy products and beans. Eat lots of vegetables, fruits, nuts and seeds daily. Nuts contain lots of good fat which fight the bad fats in your abdomen and keep your cholesterol level in check. Avoid taking big meals. Small portions of meal at a time are highly recommended even if it is taken about 6 times a day. Avoid taking alcohol. Drink lots of water. 8 to 10 glasses of water daily is recommended. Taking a lot of water allows harmful toxins to be flushed out of your body. Avoid being stressed up or under tension. When you are stressed up you tend to amass fats in your body. Sleep well. 6 to 8 hours of sleep per day is recommended. When you sleep, your body tends to burn up fats faster. Be active always and endeavor to exercise regularly. Engage in cardiovascular and strength training exercises like crunches, aerobics, jogging, and press-ups, brisk walking, pilates and Tae Bo. Endeavor to walk straight always as improper posture could cause your belly to shoot out.
